Planning of Hump/Slump Mold
Hump or Slump Mold // Plate
The plates displayed in the images below stuck out to me because they are all unique and original ideas. I feel as though it would be more interesting to create a plate that is especially creative rather than just an ordinary plate.
These puzzle piece plates are very creative. I feel as though the plates would not be used individually, but would make great cheese or noshing platters for hor dourves.
These animal/ character plates are more interesting that your typical plain plate. They would be very fun for kids and add more character to the ceramic design.
This idea of combining three or so plates is unique. All though this plate may not have an everyday use, it would make in interesting artistic wall decoration, or could even be used as a platter.
Between all three of these slump mold plate designs, I feel as though I would be most likely to choose to create and animal or character plate. I feel as though that style would be more creative and colorful.
Combined Pinch Pots
Plan
My plan in creating two combined pinch pots was not to create a piece of artwork that would necessarily function, but rather something that I would be proud of. Therefore, I created two strawberry ceramic forms which would complement each other.
Process
My process in creating the strawberry forms was to first create four uniform pinch pots that were similar in size. Following this, I combined the pinch pots and added characteristics of strawberries, such as seed spots and leaves to the top. So that the strawberries would be complementary as I had originally planned, I etched an effect that would show dripping chocolate. Therefore, the two strawberries would complement each other due to the fact the fact that one was plain and the other was chocolate covered.
Product
Although my product is not 100% complete because the forms are not yet painted to show they are complementary, I am confident in my finished product. I feel as though I was able to create what I had envisioned.
